Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Will County Habitat! Join us in our efforts to foster community and build thriving neighborhoods by helping on a construction site. All skill levels are welcome and instruction is provided. Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty, and bring a lunch. Water will be available.
Weekly Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 8 AM - 2:30 PM Please be on time to hear the morning safety talk and learn about the tasks for the day.
Locations: Sites vary due to changing construction timelines, but our current sites are in Elwood, Lockport, and Joliet.
Tasks: Volunteer responsibilities on a build site can include framing, siding, painting, roofing, flooring, trim work, finishing, landscaping, and beyond. Site supervisors will explain the day's activities at the beginning of the shift.
Age Restriction: Please note that all construction volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer. Volunteers aged 16 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and all volunteers under 18 must have a liability waiver signed by a parent. The waiver can be found here.
